Well, things did not go as smoothly this week. We had a replacement teacher who did not seem to be at the top of her game. How this played out is that she put Pip, a 6.5 pound bundle of fluff with a (probably) 25 pound rambunctious German Shepard pup.
It wasn't the Shepard's fault that she wanted to play with Pippi by nipping and tackling her. But she was like a steam roller and freaked Pippi right out, so much so Pip was was looking like a wolf cub fighting over what ever they fight over - teeth bared and lips curled up. Her behavior freaked me out too! But not the teacher, until Pippi started shrieking and running for the door and, literally, climbing the walls of the play area - then the teacher got with it and simultaneously so the volunteer and me. I said "this is enough!", and snatched Pippi from the onslaught, and the others corralled the Shepard. It all worked out, and thank goodness Pippi is who she is and does not seem to be damaged by the experience, but I sure will be more alert during play time at puppy school, and not blindly turn the responsibility of my dog blindly over to another person.
