Charity From Your Heart

Not only are we as a society packed to the max with crap, we give our power away to the marketers at this time of year, robotically shelling out money we don't have to get someone something they probably don't want. Unless we all do something different, America will soon be one big landfill.


Why not make a contribution in their name instead? Yeah, it will be a little weird this year with them not having to look all happy at getting socks, but if you keep doing it, in the years to come they will be looking forward to seeing what charity you've picked for them.

As our money is getting tighter so are the funds for many non-profit groups. They need our help. The list below are some organizations which seem ethical, but you do your own research before you write your check. Make a commitment to yourself to maintain your generosity of spirit throughout the year.

Kiva - Loans that change lives. My daughter sent this site too me and it's a wonderful example of helping someone learn to fish rather than giving then a fish.

Heifer - Help hungry families feed themselves.

Independent Charities of America - in case you are confused whom to donate to, this organization might help you sort it out.
