December 15, 2005 Continued
The thing I'm afraid of is a rapid downhill progression now that I'm diagnosed. The stories of seemingly healthy women dying only months after a doctor has told them they have cancer. Is that because of the treatment or their fears (or something else)?
Will I make the right treatment choice? Research.
M. thinks I should be grateful. Well, that sounds callus and she is anything but callus. Give me day or two to feel grateful! I'm not angry or resentful at all. Really. It's sort of an adventure, like the illiostomy. (I had a ruptured appendix in 2002 that ruptured and abscessed. The dr gave me a temporary illiostomy; I had it repaired and removed six months later). It was okay. This will be okay. But being grateful won't make it go away I'm pretty sure of that.
