Another Reason to Dump Low Fat Foods

For those of you that are still on a low fat diet, this news might make you reconsider. A newsletter from my dentist Dr. Mark Fleming, points out that low fat foods have replaced the fat with sugar. And even though sugar calories are half the calories of fat, it takes a lot of sugar to make something with out fat to taste good, therefore more calories.

As far as your teeth go (he is a dentist after all) the longer the sugar stays in your mouth the worse it is on your teeth. His suggestion, if you have to eat sugar, rinse after. Of course a brush and floss wouldn't hurt either.
