The Wrecking Ball

Something in me is sad as I look at the death of a once proud and tall building.

I feel like a voyeur as I gaze at the destruction, thinking of the embarrassment the building feels as its guts and entrails are exposed.

Hundreds of people took years to put the building up, yet it only takes a handful of workers and some big machinery to take it down

Many say progress is good, and I agree, but that doesn't mean my heart can't hurt as I look out and see how the the old has to be destroyed to make way for the new.
